Stainless steel is a oft-chosen sink because it blends well with modern appliances. Stainless steel sinks are available in drop in models and undermount, and are easy to install. Choose stainless steel in eighteen to twenty gage steel, and alloyed with chrome and nickel for added strength and corrosion prevention.

Another popular style is the copper sink. Copper works well with the popular granite counter tops found in many kitchens. These sinks require little maintenance and have a high degree of anti-microbial properties.

The farmhouse style (apron sink) kitchen sink is increasing in popularity. These fit in well in a kitchen with a rustic or country style decor.  These sinks feature a deeper bowl and an exposed front.

Fire-clay sinks are another style seen more often these days. They are made with a non-porous and extremely durable surface that dosen’t discolor, fade or rust. They are resistant to scratching or chipping, and are resistant to bacteria.

Kitchen sinks made of durable composite materials are almost as popular as stainless steel. They can vary from shiny surfaces to brushed type appearance. Their popularity is due to the wide choice of colors and materials available, and one can be found to go with any decor.
